“FalleN revealed in an interview with Gaules that YEKINDAR is no longer calling for FURIA and is likely not going to be IGL after he retires ‼️ Gaules: "YEKINDAR was saying he was no longer giving calls?" FalleN: "Yeah, we're back to base... he probably felt that being IGL is very demanding, and he feels like he can help more without calling. We wanted to try it out thinking about next year, we had an idea of how it could be for him... it's better to try now rather than talking to him next year and finding out he doesn't want it." Gaules: "The way he physically plays, so close to the monitor... it's hard, no?" FalleN: "Yeah, it's hard... even the position doesn't help" Gaules: "I was having a talk during EWC... it's hard for you doing this adaptation for the future [YEKINDAR calling], but at the same time playing tournaments... so you want to play well and at the same time prepare the future" FalleN: "It's experiments... we were also adding new maps... But the captain position is tough, it requires a lot of stuff, technical knowledge, which he has. You also have to do many things at the same time during games, which is hard for everyone... in general IGLs are always getting the more sacrificial positions, so it's kind of not the moment for him, he has more to give other than being captain. I think it was good for the team to have a feeling of how it would with him as captain, and also for him to have that feeling... and that helps us for the choice coming next year, so it was valid [experiment]." [later in the interview] FalleN: "So I think this has been decided... he played 2 or 3 tournaments as IGL, we got the feeling of what it can be, if he likes it or not... and he said he wants to focus on his own game, so he passed it on to me again at the moment."”
