How the fan vote works
Every professional player in the CS Daily Game database can be voted for. One vote per player, and clicking a second time takes it back. Because voting needs no account, your votes are remembered in your browser rather than in a profile — clearing your site data forgets them.
The LEGEND, STAR, KNOWN and ROOKIE chip beside each player is a separate measure, and the two are worth comparing. That chip is computed from the HLTV record — world number ones, Top 20 placements, Majors won and career length — and it decides which players turn up at which difficulty in the daily games. Votes never move it, which is what keeps the games out of reach of anyone trying to game the ranking.
The most interesting names are the ones where the record and the crowd disagree: an in-game leader with no Top 20 to his name but everyone's respect, or a statistical monster nobody warms to.
Tips
- Search by nickname, club or country to find anyone in the roster — typing plain ASCII finds accented names too.
- Your own votes are counted in the header, so you can see how many players you have backed.
- Each player profile carries the same heart, so you can vote while reading someone's stats.
- Votes are public and anonymous: the count is the only thing stored, never who voted.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to vote?
No. Voting is open to everyone with no sign-up. Your votes are stored in your browser, so they survive a reload but not clearing your site data.
Can I vote for the same player twice?
No — one vote per player. Clicking the heart again removes your vote. The counter shows the live total across everyone who has voted.
Does voting change how the games work?
No, and that is deliberate. The difficulty pools in Guess the Player, Blur, Bingo and Team Path are built from the HLTV record — Majors, Top 20 placements, career length — not from votes, so no amount of voting can push a player into the easy mode.
Why is a famous in-game leader rated lower than I expect?
HLTV's Top 20 is an individual ranking, so it under-rates captains the same way K/D does: karrigan has two Majors, twenty-two Majors played and not a single Top 20 placement. The tiers account for trophies and longevity for exactly that reason — and the fan vote is where you can say the rest.
