CS2 Multiplayer Rooms

Press Find a match for a 1v1 against another player, or create a private room, send the code, and race your friends through the same rounds of Guess, Blur, Team Path, Higher-Lower, Wordle, Bingo, Ace or Major Draft — or pick Mixed and get a different game every round.

How CS2 multiplayer rooms work

Find a match pairs you with another player who is searching at the same time: a 1v1 over five rounds, a different game each round, in about ten minutes. Both of you accept, the server opens the match, and the rest works like any room. When nobody else is searching, you get a ghost instead: a real match another player of the site played, replayed move for move at its own pace, and always marked as a ghost — never passed off as someone live. Sign in and matchmade games are ranked: everyone starts at 10,000, the first five matches place you, and a win against a stronger player is worth more than a win against a weaker one.

A multiplayer room turns any CS Daily Game into a head-to-head race. One player creates the room and picks the game, the difficulty, the number of rounds and the time per round. Pick Mixed instead of a single game and every round is drawn from the games you ticked, so a five-round room plays five different games. Everyone else joins with the five-character code or the link, up to eight players in a room, and the host starts the game when the lobby is full.

Every round is the same for everybody: the same mystery pro in Guess, the same blurred photo in Blur, the same career path in Team Path, the same chain of stat duels in Higher-Lower, the same word in Wordle, the same card and the same players in Bingo, the same ranked list in Ace. Points go to whoever finds the answer with the fewest tries, and the first three to finish earn a bonus. In Major Draft every team drafts at the same time from its own shortlists, then all the fives play one Major together against the best real clubs.

Nobody can peek at the answer. The server draws every round and checks every guess, so the page in your browser never holds the solution until the round is over: Blur only ever sends the photo as sharp as the tries you have used, Higher-Lower hands you one duel at a time, and Bingo shows you the next player only when you reach him.

Once you are out of tries — or the moment you find it — the room opens up: you watch the other players' boards fill in live, one player at a time, and at the end of a Bingo round you can read everyone's card. Nobody has to press anything to move on either. Each player's screen says it has read the result by itself, and the next round starts when everyone has.

Tips

  • Send the room link rather than the code: it opens the right room directly and only asks for a nickname.
  • Rooms lock when the game starts, so wait until everyone has joined before pressing Start.
  • Short rounds reward quick recall; three minutes suits Major Draft, Bingo and harder difficulties, and a Mixed room uses the same clock for every game.
  • The host can switch to another game between matches with Rematch, without anyone leaving the room.

Frequently asked questions

How does Find a match work?

Type a nickname and press Find a match. The search pairs you with another player who is looking at the same time; you both have fifteen seconds to accept, then a five-round 1v1 starts on its own, a different game every round.

What is a ghost?

If nobody else is searching after thirty seconds, you are offered a ghost: a real match another player of this site played, replayed at the pace it was played. It is always labelled as a ghost, and you never meet rounds you have already played.

How does the rating work?

Matchmade games between signed-in players, or against a ghost, are ranked. Everyone starts at 10,000 and the rating appears after five placement matches, in the same colour bands as CS2 Premier. Leaving a match counts as a loss.

Is multiplayer free?

Yes. Matches and rooms are free for every game, with no limit on how many you play.

Do my friends need an account?

No. A nickname is enough to find a match, create a room or join one. Signing in is only needed for a rating.

How many players can join a room?

Up to eight. A room can also be started alone if you want to try a game first.

Can someone cheat by looking at the page?

The answer is never sent to the browser before the round is over: the server draws each round and checks every guess. Stats and careers stay public data, as on the rest of the site.

Which games can I play with friends?

Guess, Blur, Team Path, Higher-Lower, Wordle, Bingo, Ace and Major Draft all have multiplayer rooms, and a Mixed room plays several of them in one match, one game per round.

Can I watch the others play?

Yes, as soon as you can no longer play the round — you found the answer, ran out of tries, or your run ended. Their boards then appear live, one player at a time. A player who can still play never sees anyone else's answers.
