CS2 Wordle
The Wordle you know, played on the Counter-Strike dictionary: guess the daily word letter by letter, six tries.
How to play CS2 Wordle
CS2 Wordle is the classic Wordle mechanic applied to Counter-Strike 2. A word is drawn every day and you have six guesses to find it. After each guess every tile is colour-coded: green means the character is correct and in the right place, gold means it appears in the word but somewhere else, and dark means it is not in the word at all. The on-screen keyboard remembers what you have ruled out.
The dictionary is Counter-Strike: maps, weapons, utility, roles, in-game terms, map callouts, teams and pro nicknames. Two things differ from the original Wordle, and both are forced by that vocabulary rather than chosen. Words run from four to eight characters instead of a fixed five — restricting the game to five-letter words would throw away AK47, INFERNO and OVERPASS — so the grid sizes itself to the answer and the length is shown before you start. And digits count as characters, because DUST2, M4A4 and XYP9X are among the most recognisable words in the game.
Each difficulty runs its own word of the day, so there are four puzzles to solve daily. Easy sticks to maps, iconic weapons and household-name pros; Impossible reaches into config commands, retired community maps and 1.6 legends. The category is shown from the first guess — that is what keeps a variable-length puzzle fair.
Tips
- Open with a word that burns through common characters: ANCIENT and MOLOTOV between them cover A, N, C, I, E, T, M, O, L and V.
- The category is a real clue. "Callout" narrows an eight-letter answer far more than "Term" does.
- Gold tiles are position information too — if a character came back gold, you already know one place it is not.
- Remember the digits. On weapon and pro-player days the keyboard row you keep ignoring is often where the answer hides.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the Guess the Player game?
Guess the Player hides a pro and gives you clue columns — nationality, team, role, age. CS2 Wordle hides a word and gives you letter-by-letter feedback. Different mechanic, different puzzle, both daily.
Why are the words not all five letters?
Counter-Strike vocabulary does not fit in five letters. Holding to it would drop AK47, INFERNO and OVERPASS and leave barely two months of puzzles. The grid shows the length before your first guess, so nothing is hidden from you.
Can I type numbers?
Yes, and you will need to. DUST2, M4A4, SSG08, XM1014 and XYP9X are all in the dictionary, so the keyboard has a digit row.
Does my guess have to be a real Counter-Strike word?
No. Any combination of the right length is accepted, so you can spend a guess probing characters without being blocked by a dictionary check.
How many puzzles are there per day?
Four — one for each difficulty, each drawn from its own list. Solve all four for the full set.
