Crossfire
A 3×3 grid of Counter-Strike categories every day. Name a pro who fits both the row and the column of each square, with nine guesses for the whole grid.
How to play Crossfire
Every day brings one grid, the same for everyone. Three categories run down the side and three across the top: clubs a player has played for, countries, roles such as AWPer or in-game leader, Major winners, HLTV top 20 placements and career numbers. Each square asks for a pro who fits both of its categories.
Tap a square and type a name. If the pro fits both, his photo fills the square. If not, the guess is spent and the square stays open. You have nine guesses for the whole grid, right or wrong, and a pro can only be used once.
Each square is worth ten points, plus a rarity bonus of up to ten: a lesser-known pro pays more than a legend, and so does a square that few pros fit. When the grid is over, the squares you missed show two of their answers.
Tips
- Start with the squares you are sure of, then spend what is left on the hard ones.
- Keep the obvious stars for squares where nobody else fits: a pro counts only once per grid.
- A club counts the whole career, not only the current team.
- A lesser-known name scores more than a household one, if you are sure he fits.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a new grid every day?
Yes. A new grid starts at midnight UTC, the same for every player, and a finished grid cannot be replayed that day.
Does a club mean the player's current team?
No. A club means the pro played for it at any point of his career, current team included.
How is the score worked out?
Ten points for each square you fill, plus a rarity bonus of up to ten per square: more for a lesser-known pro, more for a square that few pros fit.
Why was my answer refused?
The pro has to fit both categories of that square. A guess that does not fit costs one of your nine guesses, and the square stays open for another try.
Can I share my result?
Yes. The end screen copies a spoiler-free grid of your squares with your score, ready to paste anywhere.
